The Ernest Not Hiring Campaign, conceived and produced by Liquid Agency, began as a series of digital posters that appeared on the company’s website and its recruitment and social channels, including LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, and Facebook.
Each poster presented the kind of candidate Ernest is not hiring: a sheep, a robot, a cookie cutter, etc., paid off by a word that is the opposite of what we’re seeing. For example, Leaders, not sheep. Individuals, not robots. Shortly after the posters went live, Ernest saw a noticeable bump in the number and quality of job applicants, so they asked us to extend the campaign to video.
Liquid produced five short videos, each featuring Ernest’s own Director of Talent, Vince Vincent, sitting at his desk and “interviewing” a sheep, a robot, a clown, a porcupine, and even a bulldozer.
In addition to the praise and admiration of recruiters across the country, LinkedIn traffic spiked by 300% and applications rose to over 1,000 per month, and multiple hires were directly attributed to this campaign.
